Zelenskyy: Putin Wants The War To Continue, But September Could Change A Lot
Volodymyr Zelenskyy

The President of Ukraine noted that the Russian dictator needs to create the right atmosphere.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin shows no signs of ending the war against Ukraine. However, significant progress in the peace process is possible on the diplomatic front.

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.

The head of state noted that it is necessary to create the right mindset for Putin—to end the war, not to continue fighting.

“Unfortunately, at this point, all intelligence reports—both ours and those of our partners—and all signals from Russia indicate that the Russian leader personally still wants war,” Zelenskyy said.

The president noted that the overwhelming majority of Russian society already wants to agree to a ceasefire along the line of contact. However, Putin advocates continuing military operations against Ukraine.

“We’ll see what the U.S. president’s representatives can accomplish. September could change a lot, and we must work together with our partners to do everything we can to protect people, to protect lives, and to secure peace,” Zelenskyy said.
