Yulia Sviridenko will take on a new position.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko has submitted her resignation to the Verkhovna Rada.

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a Facebook post by Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.

“The Verkhovna Rada has received a letter of resignation from Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko,” he wrote.

According to Stefanchuk, the Rada will consider this matter in the near future.

He thanked Sviridenko for her work during an extremely difficult time for the country.

Earlier reports indicated that Sviridenko had been offered a new position—she will lead “a new significant direction in relations with a key partner.”

Sviridenko became head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine a year ago—on July 17, 2025, the Verkhovna Rada approved her appointment. She became prime minister following the resignation of Denys Shmyhal, who had previously served under Sviridenko’s government, first as Minister of Defense and then as Minister of Energy.

Prior to her appointment as prime minister, Sviridenko served as first deputy prime minister and minister of economy. Previously, she was deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
