Ukraine Will Receive French Rafale Fighter Jets

France will transfer Rafale fighter jets to Ukraine and authorize the production of modern missiles and aerial bombs. The first aircraft are expected to take to the skies over Ukraine as early as 2028–2029.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by French President Emmanuel Macron following a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.

The French president emphasized that these decisions were a continuation of the agreements reached by the parties on November 17, 2025.

“We were able to give concrete form to these intentions—which we signed on November 17 of last year—through the first batches of air defense systems and the modernization and acquisition by Ukraine of Rafale attack aircraft. The first aircraft are expected to be flying in Ukrainian airspace as early as 2028–2029,” Macron said.

He added that the package also provides for the delivery of additional radars and missiles, as well as the transfer of licenses to manufacture modern weapons.

“Additional radars, additional missiles, and we’ve also added licensing—for the Aster-30, the SCALP, and the AASM bombs. All of this will strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities and reinforce Ukraine’s position on the front lines,” the French president emphasized.
