A soccer player from a Belarusian club made a xenophobic remark.
The Romanian publication fanatik.ro insists that in the closing minutes of the first match of the first qualifying round of the Champions League, "ML Vitebsk" defender Sergei Balanovich insulted Universitatea midfielder Tudor Bulută.
The source reports that the Belarusian club’s substitute player attempted to provoke his opponent and called him a “Gypsy” three times. Balanovich, who entered the game in the 84th minute, received a yellow card in the 92+ minute.
It is claimed that the caution was issued for unsportsmanlike conduct specifically following Bulutse’s complaint. Bulutse appealed to the head referee to penalize the “ML” player for his xenophobic remarks.
