Wildberries Employees In Elektrostal Were Not Allowed To Leave The Burning Warehouse During The Drone Attack

It took a long time for the evacuation to begin.

Employees at Wildberries logistics center in Elektrostal, near Moscow, report that during the drone attack and the subsequent fire, warehouse management did not allow them to leave the premises.

This was reported by “Important Stories”, citing messages in the chat of an unofficial union of marketplace workers.

According to one of the employees, instead of immediately evacuating workers from Block 10, they were gathered to hand in their barcode scanners. Shift management only changed course after the adjacent Block 9 of the complex began to collapse.
“They decided to follow protocol—or whatever was going through their heads,” she wrote.

The employee added that after that, the managers headed for the exit themselves, and the workers followed them through a narrow passageway with a turnstile. The chat also reports that some workers did not wait for instructions and opened the loading gates themselves to leave the warehouse premises.

A similar account of the events was given to the publication “Post-” by an employee of the logistics center, who is also the sister of one of the night-shift workers. According to her, during the incident, management urged everyone to remain calm and did not allow people to go outside, despite the ongoing attack.
Another community member suggested that workers may have been kept inside the warehouse to prevent possible theft of goods.
