The Port Of Novorossiysk Has Banned Nighttime Vessel Traffic Due To Attacks By Ukrainian Drones

Russia has imposed a temporary ban on vessel traffic to and from the port of Novorossiysk between midnight and 5:00 a.m. due to attacks by Ukrainian drones. This was reported by Reuters citing three sources in the grain industry.
According to them, the order was given verbally, and there is currently no official document regarding the ban. The agency’s sources noted that the port is operating as usual, with the exception of nighttime hours, which are subject to the restrictions, and that grain exports remain unchanged.
On July 21, a government order was issued prohibiting ships from anchoring in areas not protected by air defense systems, in the port of Azov (Sea of Azov) and the port of Kavkaz (Kerch Strait).
The port of Novorossiysk has become the main logistical and operational hub for the remnants of the Russian Black Sea Fleet after an intense campaign of Ukrainian strikes forced Moscow to urgently withdraw its warships from its base in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
Despite the change in deployment location, Ukrainian forces continue to regularly attack the base in Novorossiysk, using, in particular, surface drones carrying explosives, against which Russia is trying in vain to defend itself by installing physical barriers in the water.
As reported by British intelligence, the Russian military command has begun mass-installing special anti-drone grilles on its submarines based in Novorossiysk in an attempt to protect them from Ukrainian strikes.
On July 14, the Ukrainian Navy destroyed a border Russian FSB vessel "Izumrud", which on November 25, 2018, participated in an attack on Ukrainian Navy ships in the Kerch Strait.
