A "Bastion" System—from Which The Russians Had Been Firing "Oniks" And "Zircon" Missiles—was Destroyed In Crimea

Defense forces struck positions of the Russian “Bastion” coastal missile system in occupied Crimea. It was from this system that the Russians launched “Onyx” and “Zircon” missiles at Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Navy.

It is reported that on the night of August 16, forces and assets of the Ukrainian Navy struck the launch positions and deployment site of the “Bastion” coastal missile system in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

“As a result of the strike, the enemy sustained significant losses in equipment and personnel. The enemy’s final losses are being verified,” the Ukrainian military stated.

As emphasized by the Ukrainian Navy, the “Bastion” coastal missile system is a scarce and expensive weapon system that Russian occupiers use to fire “Onyx” supersonic missiles and “Zircon” hypersonic missiles at southern and other regions of Ukraine.
