The U.S. Armed Forces struck IRGC targets in the Strait of Hormuz area.
The U.S. military has begun carrying out airstrikes against Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Axios.
According to the publication, the strikes targeted locations along Iran’s southern coast: the cities of Bandar Abbas, Jask, Chabahar, Konarak, Minab, Sirik, and the island of Qeshm.
U.S. Central Command reported on social media platform X that strikes began at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time (7:00 p.m. Minsk time) against targets of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Iran.
“These strikes followed recent attempts by the IRGC to attack merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. military personnel deployed in the region,” the agency noted.
