Russia Is Targeting Gas Stations In Kyiv

There are casualties.

On Friday, September 11, explosions rocked Kyiv amid a red alert declared in the capital. The Ukrainian Air Force reported jet-powered UAVs over Kyiv around 10:40 a.m. Minsk time, after which a corresponding alert was issued in the city, according to New Voice.

Shortly thereafter, city authorities reported that drones had struck gas stations in two districts of the capital—Obolon and Dnipro. This was confirmed by Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) reported a probable drone strike on a gas station in the Dniprovskyi district and dispatched the appropriate emergency services to the scene.

Later, Klitschko wrote about a second strike on a gas station in the Obolon district and also reported that medical personnel had been called to a residential building in the Dnipro district following explosions in Troieshchyna.

According to preliminary data from the Kyiv City State Administration, two people were injured as a result of the Russian attack in the Obolonskyi district, the administration reports.

As a reminder, the day before, on September 10, a Russian drone struck a “Ukrnafta” gas station in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital—a fire broke out at the station, and four people were injured.

In addition, on the night of September 11, a separate UAV attack on Kyiv was reported: a fire broke out in a nine-story residential building in the Dniprovskyi district, injuring at least seven people.
