"The Entire 'non-empire' Will Tremble: The Ukrainian Armed Forces Are Closing In On The 'Yamal Cross'"

Ukraine is striking at the heart of Russia's oil and gas industry.
Commander of the 429th "Achilles" Independent Unmanned Systems Brigade Yuri Fedorenko highlighted the importance of the record-breaking drone strike on the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug:
“Important enemy military and economic infrastructure facilities—the Novy Urengoy and Purovsk gas processing plants—were struck more than 3,000 km from Ukraine’s state border. They process gas condensate for further transportation and produce petroleum fractions, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products. These products, in particular, meet the needs of the occupying forces”.
The military official emphasizes the scale of the incident:
“To understand the scale of the event, it should be noted that thanks to precision strikes by FP-1 drones, production chains were destroyed that cannot be quickly restored”.
He recalls a previous incident that occurred at the same facility:
“In August 2021, a condensate pre-deethanization unit burned down at the Novy Urengoy plant. Gazprom spent three years building a replacement for it. It is quite likely that repair work will drag on for a very long time this time as well”.
According to Fedorenko, the financial losses from the strike are quite significant:
“It’s clear that the damage amounts to millions of dollars (and if you add lost revenue, perhaps even billions)”.
At the same time, he emphasizes that the attack’s significance extends far beyond the direct damage:
“But the significance of this defeat lies not only in the specific damage inflicted on the aggressor’s military-economic machine. What matters is that the Defense Forces managed to strike the Yamal Peninsula. If Yamal, with its energy infrastructure, catches fire—the entire ‘failed empire’ will tremble.
The military analyst describes the region’s scale and strategic importance:
“These are vast territories, comparable in size to a large European country, home to some of the planet’s largest natural gas fields. Literally 100–120 km away (not a distance at all for our FP-1s) lies a very interesting facility—a strategic gas transportation hub called the ‘Yamal Cross.’ It’s called the “Cross” because 17 high-pressure main gas pipelines intersect there. You could say that this is the heart of the entire gas industry in the swamps—and it will soon be in our crosshairs”.
Fedorenko recalls the previous record for the range of Ukrainian strikes:
“Before the attack on gas transportation facilities in Yamal, the farthest target of our ‘long-range sanctions’ was the Omsk Oil Refinery, located approximately 2,500 kilometers away. This landmark event took place on July 6 of this year. Just two months have passed—and our drones have significantly surpassed that record by 500 km”.
Commenting on the technological progress of the Ukrainian defense industry, the military official adds:
“This is not the only evidence of Ukrainian technological progress, which is taking place literally before our very eyes, right here and now. A couple of days ago, Ukrainian manufacturers demonstrated the “Koral” launcher for the first time, designed to counter ballistic missiles. Ukrainian developers had previously unveiled individual components of the system. In its optimal configuration, the “Coral” anti-aircraft missile is expected to enter mass production soon. The exact date for the start of mass production remains classified, but the whole world can already see that the development has reached its final stage.
“Long-range sanctions” are becoming even more far-reaching. The aggressor’s oil and gas economy is in flames. With each passing day, the pseudo-empire grows weaker and becomes increasingly “riddled with holes.” Soon, there won’t be a single target within 3,000 km that we cannot reach. To be continued.
