10 Released Political Prisoners Have Sought International Protection In Poland

They were released on September 16.

All ten political prisoners from the group released on September 16 who moved to Poland have filed applications for international protection. Nine people did so in Warsaw, and one in Białystok, according to Most.

As a reminder, following negotiations with U.S. Special Envoy John Cole in Minsk, Belarus released 25 people on September 16. All of them were deported to Lithuania. However, ten people decided to move to Poland.

The former political prisoners made the decision to regularize their status in Poland with the consent of the Polish authorities.
