The Belarusian tennis player didn't like the question about parties.
Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko lost her temper after a reporter asked her a question at a press conference following her victory over Polina Yatsenko at the U.S. Open.
— How are you feeling now that the tournament has started? Obviously, last week there were a lot of parties, fun, and stuff like that...
— You guys are just ridiculous. Parties, fun. Where on earth did you even get that from? How could something like that even cross your minds? What kind of question is that? Just because I posted about collaborations with brands, you decided I was partying?
— I’m not saying you were at parties… I’m saying there were a lot of sponsored events and things like that. I’m not saying you went to parties.
— That’s exactly what you said.
— Excuse me? For those who don’t understand: I’m not suggesting that Arina was partying. I’m saying that she had a lot of public appearances and a lot on her plate.
— Hmm. Okay.
— Now that the tournament has started, do you feel like you’re becoming more serious and focused on competing?
— Oh yes, of course—I wasn’t serious before. Next question. Think before you speak, — Sobolenko said at a press conference, according to "Championship".
