Russia's Oil And Gas Revenues Have Hit Their Lowest Level Since The Start Of The Year

The rise in energy prices did not help the Kremlin.

According to August figures, oil and gas revenues to Russia’s federal budget reached 424 billion Russian rubles—the lowest figure since January of this year (393 billion rubles). This is according to data from the Russian Ministry of Finance.

From March through June 2026, revenues showed growth: from 617 billion Russian rubles in March to 855.6 billion rubles in April, followed by a decline to 678.9 billion Russian rubles in May and 683.6 billion rubles in June. In July, there was a sharp surge to a yearly high of 934 billion rubles, which was followed by a collapse in August.
