Zelenskyy "moved" KHL Players From Planes To Buses

The Continental Hockey League has reached an agreement with bus companies in case of service cancellations due to drone attacks.

Ahead of the new season, the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) held a meeting with club executives to discuss logistics issues. KHL President Alexei Morozov spoke about this in an interview with "Kommersant".

The league also organized a seminar in Yekaterinburg for team security personnel, where they discussed, among other things, the nuances of interacting with law enforcement agencies. “We have an operations center that is in constant contact with the clubs 24/7. If something happens at the arena or on the road, the clubs can inform us immediately,” said Alexei Morozov.

According to him, the KHL is not immune to game reschedulings and cancellations. Mr. Morozov stated that the league will “do everything possible to ensure that games are not canceled and that the schedule is maintained.” “The procedure is as follows: the duty officer assigns someone to handle the issue depending on what it is. We work with the clubs to develop measures to resolve it,” he emphasized.

The KHL president also noted that in the event of flight cancellations or delays due to drone attacks, hockey clubs can “promptly contact” the bus companies with which the league “has worked out cooperation arrangements.”

Last season, a regular-season game between Sochi and Moscow’s CSKA was halted after the first period and later canceled due to a renewed drone attack alert in the Sirius and Sochi areas. Later, the KHL decided to complete the game in Moscow. The game against Nizhny Novgorod’s “Torpedo” was suspended for the same reason, but resumed a few hours later.

As a reminder, on September 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a “closure of the airspace” over Russia.
