It's going to get even hotter.
Putin is expanding the Russian army and preparing to mobilize another 300,000 people. North Korea will also provide military assistance.
The Kremlin leader has issued a decree increasing the size of his armed forces by 15,500 personnel. The authorized strength of the Russian Armed Forces now stands at 2.4 million people, of whom more than 1.5 million are active-duty personnel. The trend toward increasing “combat biomass” is gaining momentum: since the start of the full-scale war, the size of the Russian army has increased sevenfold, and four times already in the first part of 2026. But this is far from the limit.
At the same time, the recruitment of foreign mercenaries continues. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, North Korea is preparing to deploy another 10,000 military personnel to the swamps. The current contingent of North Korean troops stands at 8,000.
As we can see, cooperation between the two dictatorships is intensifying. Pyongyang supplies Moscow with manpower, while Moscow supplies Pyongyang with technology for producing suicide bombers and more.
In the short term (October, November, December), the Russian authorities may mobilize approximately 300,000 people. Preparatory measures are already underway: new training grounds are being established, and databases of potential cannon fodder are being expanded. As expected, following the State Duma elections, covert mobilization is taking on an increasingly large scale. What does all this mean?
In short: nothing new—the enemy will rely on sheer numbers, attempting to seize the Donbas before spring. As has happened time and again, it will try to compensate for its technological backwardness with human mass. The enemy’s strategy remains unchanged: quantity over quality.
We are already seeing how this plays out in practice: the enemy’s casualty figures are beyond the imagination of international observers. In the first eight months of this year, we “forcibly demobilized” approximately 250,000 occupiers along the line of contact (a figure exceeding the populations of several European countries). The enemy was losing at least 248 personnel per kilometer.
But even this information is already outdated: by the end of September, the occupiers’ casualty rate per kilometer will rise again.
In the first half of September, a 25% increase in enemy personnel was recorded along the front line. This wave is literally crashing against the wall of our drones. In just the last two days, the enemy has lost 3,500 soldiers. The Unmanned Systems Forces alone are destroying a battalion of occupiers every day.
Things are only going to get hotter. The intensification of mobilization efforts in the marshes is yet another test for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, but we are ready for it. As the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert (Madyar) Brovdi says: “We’ll give the occupiers’ reinforcements the welcome they deserve.” Nature is on our side: before long, the “green” will turn transparent, and the battlefield will become a shooting range.
And on our side, too, are freedom and all universal human values, which no horde of barbarians can overcome. Good will prevail; we will prevail. Glory to Ukraine!
