A Muscovite On Minsk: They Don't Accept Russian Rubles; We Won't Be Coming Back

A tourist from Russia shares his impressions of Belarus.

A Moscow resident obogrew shared a post on Threads about his visit to our country’s capital.

“We spent the weekend in Minsk,” he writes. “I really didn’t like it at all. It was cold, and the weather was awful.

The apartment cost 10,000 rubles a day. The entire city center was cordoned off; there were runners everywhere. They don’t accept Russian rubles anywhere, so we had to run around looking for a currency exchange.

We won’t be coming back.”

Belarusians approved the Russian man’s decision to no longer visit our country. The website Charter97.org cites some comments:

- Thank God—just make sure you keep your promise.

- It’s because of people like you that housing prices went up.

- Don’t come here.

- What a good decision.

- Stay home; it’s better there.

- Wonderful review.

- Be sure to tell everyone you know—they don’t like you here.
