Main Belarusian “grain grower” prefers Hermes

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has recently got acquainted with harvesting process in the Minsk region. An embarrassing trifle slipped in the image of “defender of the nation” and “ploughboy, noticed by Belarusian bloggers. A 600-dollar Hermes belt, easily recognised by a belt buckle, hit the eye.

“Perfect calf leather, legendary H letter on the buckle as a sign of style, good taste, power and flourishing. There are analogous variants for women. Classic colours: sandy, black, claret. Price – about 18.700 Russian rubles,” Business.Style RBK says about the ware.

It should be reminded that according to Lukashenka, his salary is “1000 or 1100 dollars”. I have cornered myself, so that I can’t afford to buy flats for my children legally. Firstly, I must take credits. I have no money to build them a flat even in Minsk. If I retire, I will have nowhere to live,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka complained to TV Tsentr in 2005.

According to annual rating of Fokus Ukrainian magazine, Alyaksandr Lukashenka is one of the top ten richest people in the Ukraine’s neighbouring countries.
