CSTO countries’ security, law enforcement and defence to be trained in Belarus

On Aril 24 the “chamber of representatives” ratified the agreement signed in September 2008 on training of security, law enforcement and defence men in the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

As “Interfax” agency was told by Anatol Kulyashou, activing minister of Interior Affairs of Belarus, the agreement formulates the order of military cadres’ training in the framework of the CSTO. It could be implemented on a paid basis on account of the sending country on a preferential or free basis according to the quotas set by the receiving country. In accordance with the agreement the sides recognize certificates, scientific degrees and ranks of each other as equivalent.

Kulyashou noted that at the moment representatives of law-enforcing agencies of Qatar have training in the Interior Ministry Academy. They are studying hand-to-hand fighting. Last year law-enforcer from Qatar, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates improved their skills in the Interior Ministry Academy.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization, unofficially known as the Tashkent Treaty organisation, includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
