Arrests at concert of Lyapis Trubetskoy band for white-red-white flags (Photo, video)

People were detained in Mahilou on May 7 at a concert played by Lyapis Trubetskoi, when musicians were signing a song Belarus Freedom.

As musicians began signing Belarus Freedom, youngsters raised national white-red-white flags.

According to young people, militiamen burst in Liga club, where a gig was taking place, and began catching those who had flags. They also detained everyone who had national symbols – small white-red-white flags or Pahonya coat of arms – on their bags and cloths. About 20 people were detained, Radio Svaboda reports.

As it was known at 11.00 p.m., three young people still were in the Leninski district militia department. One of them, Stanislau Senakosau, was one of the first who raised a national flag.

The guys were set free at 2 at night, they weren’t given copies of reports and explained reasons of the detention.
