Gennady Zyuganov, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, has arrived in Minsk.
According to BelTA information agency, the formal reason for the visit is a meeting between the main communist of Russia with Belarusian communist MPs.
“issues on development of the cooperation between the communist parties of the two countries, the current state and prospects for development of the international communist movement, and Russia-Belarus relations will be discussed during the meeting,” said Tatsyana Holubeva, deputy head of the Standing Committee of the “house of representatives” on housing policy, building, trade and privatization and first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus.
According to “Belorruski Partizan”, Gennady Zyuganov is also expected to meet with Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
It should be noticed that the Communist Party of Russia was the only group in the Russian State Duma which voted against adopting a statement on Belarus condemning the anti-Russian rhetoric of the Belarusian authorities.
