KGB “has drawn a line”

KGB “has drawn a line”

The KGB of Belarus informs that “the three most active” participants of the so-called “mass riots” have been detained. The KGB has not found its people among them.

BelTA has been informed about that in the centre for information and public relations of the KGB.

V.A. Matsukevich, A.A. Sharstou and D.V. Huseltsau (all of them were born in 1987) have been detained as suspects in committing a crime under Article 293 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (“Mass riots”). On March 23 Minsk prosecutor’s office sanctioned taking under custody as a measure of restraint for V.A. Matsukevich (see photo). He has been placed to the KGB pre-trial detention centre. Citizens A.A. Sharstou and D.V. Huseltsau have given undertaking to appear.

Thus, the KGB “has drawn a line in carrying out measures for detection and identification of persons who had provoked demolition and pogroms on December 19, 2010 on Independence Square in Minsk and who had been taking a direct part in them,” the pro-Lukashenka’s news agency informs.

It is stressed in the report that “image of exactly these persons, who had been calling upon the crowd to smash the House of Government, have been discussed and demonstrated by oppositional web-resources most often. It was stated there, that they were “the very agent provocateurs from security structures.”

By oppositional news websites the KGB probably meant a personal blog of Tatsyana Elavaya. There the author and other bloggers analyzed photo and video facts, as well as special services’ communications interception during the tragic events.

“The rumours about alleged instigation on the part of representatives of special services’ and law-enforcement agencies to commit pogroms and mass riots are groundless,” either BelTA or the KGB makes excuses.
