For The First Time In 94 Years, The Democrats Have Taken The Kansas Senate Seat Away From The Republicans

The Democrats haven't won a Senate election in Kansas since 1932.

Democratic Party candidate Adam Hamilton won the U.S. Senate election in Kansas, defeating incumbent Republican Senator Roger Marshall. This result follows from a projection by Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ).

Hamilton received 56.96% of the vote, while Marshall received 41.27%. Libertarian Party candidate David Graham received 1.78% of the vote. DDHQ declared the Democrat the winner.

Democrats had not won a Senate seat in Kansas since 1932.

On November 3, the U.S. held midterm elections for Congress. Americans elected all 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 senators. Before the election, Republicans held a slim majority in the lower chamber—218 seats to the Democrats’ 214.
