Darya Korsak not allowed to meet with husband

Darya Korsak, wife of a political prisoner Alyaksandr Atroshchankau, who had been sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment by the marionette court, could not visit her husband.

On Saturday before the Easter Darya went to the colony for a short-term meeting. The court issued a document authorizing a meeting with her husband. However the administration of the colony denied her a meeting without giving any reasons. “They told that the permission of the court does not mean anything to them, and that I must come after August 16,” Darya told to charter97.org.

We remind that the spokesperson of the Belarus’ presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov, Alyaksandr Atroshchankau, was found guilty in participation in the so-called “mass riots” after an unfair trial on March 2, 2011. He was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment in a penal colony with a reinforced regime. In fact, Alyaksandr was charged with standing and observing the events as he was at the scene of December 19 events in a capacity of a journalist. There was no other evidence of Atroshchankau’s participation in “mass riots” offered.
