Yury Chyzh Released From KGB Prison

On Wednesday, Yury Chyzh, who has been in the KGB remand prison since March this year, successfully achieved change of restraint.

“He got out of prison. He was in a sauna yesterday,” — the interlocutor close to the businessman’s circles says.

According to the information provided by one of the sources, Yury Chyzh has been released from prison in exchange for the house arrest, and he has six months to fully recompense all claims against him (according to the president, these are $ 12-13 million).

According to another source, he has been released under a non-leave obligation. “Yes, he was released yesterday. We are waiting for him at work,” — he has said.

The journalists’ attempt to verify the information about the change of restraint against the businessman in the KGB press-center has failed.

On September 11, Lukashenka said that Chyzh’s case was under his personal control. “It is not only because he is a big businessman. Sometimes he was close to the president… Many associated his behavior with the president’s name. I do care about this, frankly speaking,” — Lukashenka confessed.

Alongside with that, he informed that the businessman has already been charged and Chyzh seems ready to repair the damage, "There are economic crimes, tax evasion, and so on — multiply the caused damage by three, in some cases – by five, pay for everything that you stole from the state, and go back to work. And they are working, and are grateful for the fact that they were not sent to prisons for some 15 years, like in the same America," — Lukashenka has said.

Five people got to the KGB remand prison together with the businessman. They were suspected of evasion of taxes and duties on a large scale.
