BELAZ Worker: Large Numbers Of "Bicycles" Shipped At Plant

Sanctions have pinned the company to the mat.

BelAZ is going to produce dump trucks without engines. A source has reported to the Belarusian Association of Workers telegram-channel about the scheme of such sales. Thus, customers will buy the engines separately, and then they will be installed by BelAZ service workers.

This information has been confirmed by an anonymous source of EX-PRESS.BY. He said that the plant is shipping "bicycles" (so called dump trucks without engines - editor's note) in large quantities. "The load until September is unreal, all of them without engines. No orders after that," he specified.

The source also said that China is already building a BelAZ dealership in Russia.

On June 21, 2021 the European Union introduced sectoral sanctions against the regime in Belarus. BelAZ also fell under them. The EU designated the Zhodino-based automotive giant as a source of significant revenues for the regime, plus responsible for the repression of civil society.

As a result, major foreign suppliers of engines, paints, pumps, valves and regulators, and many other components refused to cooperate with BelAZ. Global companies such as Becker Group, Liebherr and Danfoss announced that they had stopped supplying their products.
