The author of provocative materials is suspected of spying for the Russian Federation.
Local political scientist Nazaket Mamedova was detained in Azerbaijan and is suspected of spying for the Russian Federation.
First News Media writes about this with a reference to a statement by journalist Anar Mamedov.
Other details of Mamedova’s detention have not been reported. It is also not specified what information she could have transmitted to Russian intelligence services.
At the same time, the publication notes that Mamedova is known for provocative materials in which she harshly criticized Turkey and engaged in Russian propaganda.
In turn, Russian Telegram channels write that Mamedova is a frequent guest of Russian media and supports the special military operation.
In particular, a year ago, in an interview with one of the Russian propaganda publications, she supported the annexation of Ukrainian territories announced by the Russian Federation.
In addition, in her speeches, in a propaganda style, she accused the West of “attempting to change the identity of the Azerbaijanis,” and commenting on the conflict in Karabakh, she called Russia “the only guarantor of security in Transcaucasia.”
