The mayor of the Russian capital celebrated his birthday.
On Sunday evening, June 21, the personal Telegram channel of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin was hacked. Following the hack, a flood of messages appeared claiming that the Russian capital would go up in flames.
RBC-Ukraine reported this, citing Russian Telegram channels.
The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. At that time, the channel’s feed was flooded with dozens of identical messages, including ones that read: “Moscow will burn,” “Glory to Ukraine,” and there was even a fundraiser posted for the Ukrainian army.
The posts later disappeared, and as of now, according to media reports, the channel has been restored. It is noteworthy that the hack occurred on Sobyanin’s birthday—he turned 68 on Sunday.
It is also important to note that it was specifically the mayor’s second Telegram channel—called “Sergey Sobyanin. Personal Blog.” This channel is not a fake but an official one, as evidenced by an active link on the sobyabin.ru website. As a rule, this channel publishes only announcements of content from the website.
