Chile's Ex-President Piñera Dies In Plane Crash

Former Chilean President Sebastian Piñera died in a helicopter crash, the ВВС reports citing local media.
The helicopter went down near the settlement Lago Ranco in the Los Rios region in the south of the country. There were four people on board, and three, according to preliminary data, survived.
The La Nacion publication writes that the helicopter fell into a lake and the 74-year-old former president was not able to unfasten his seatbelt.
Piñera served as president of Chile twice, from 2010-2014 and 2018-2022, and built a successful business career.
