Trump Met With Putin's Representative And Promised A "great Deal" On Ukraine

The deal will allegedly "affect all of Europe."

U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that he held a closed-door meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev after Dmitriev participated, along with Ukrainian representatives, in an event at the White House, organized by First Lady Melania Trump, according to The Moscow Times.

Trump did not disclose the details of his conversation with Dmitriev, but noted that an agreement on a settlement in Ukraine could be reached in the near future.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, the U.S. president said that a settlement is close and that all of Europe could be involved in the process.

“This will be a major agreement, and it will affect not only Ukraine... I would even say that it could affect all of Europe. It will be a major, beautiful deal, and everyone will be thrilled,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, Special Envoy and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner said that U.S. representatives at the meeting in Brussels held productive and substantive talks on Thursday with representatives from Ukraine, NATO, and European countries.

The U.S. delegation will act as a mediator in trilateral talks with representatives from Russia and Ukraine, which will take place in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11.
