The dictator has declared war on lanterns.
The sun went down at about six in the evening, but the streetlights were not turned on. Many Minsk citizens write in social networks that they got home from work almost by feel. And drivers say that it's all very dangerous in a big city.
Lights were finally turned on only at seven in the evening. Before that, there was almost no lighting.
Minsk was "put out" the day after Lukashenko's complaint. At a meeting with officials, he was indignant that the city was lit so early and that too much money was spent on lights.
Lukashenko instructed to light the lights no earlier than seven or eight in the evening and turn them off no later than seven. Power engineers immediately began to fulfill Lukashenko's absurd order.
