Russian blogger and military analyst Alexander Lunin, who publicly warned dictator Vladimir Putin of a possible new military advance by the Russian Armed Forces on the Kremlin, has been arrested. Prior to this, security forces conducted a search of his home.
Shortly after Lunin left for Moscow, he stopped communicating, and later reports emerged that he had been detained by security forces. This was reported on the evening of June 27 on the Telegram channel owned by Lunin by a person claiming to be a family friend.
The message states that Alexander himself is reportedly “alive and well,” but is in custody. He was charged with an administrative offense and detained for 11 days.
The Russian media outlet “Dozhd” previously reported that Lunin’s wife, Tatiana, had posted a video on social media in which she spoke about searches conducted at their home. She also said that Alexander had stopped communicating with her after leaving for Moscow.
According to Tatyana, law enforcement officers came to their home the night after her husband left. They allegedly “seized everything,” including flash drives, computers, laptops, a disc, and even nunchucks.
This video appeared on TikTok on Saturday, but about an hour later, for unknown reasons, Tatyana deleted it from social media. Later, a post about his detention appeared on the blogger’s channel, and the woman posted a message on her page stating that the man was “alive and well.” However, the details remain unknown.
As a reminder, on June 25, a video went viral online in which Russian soldier and blogger Alexander Lunin addressed Putin, calling on him to meet in person so he could open his eyes to the reality of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine. He also stated that if the Russian dictator refuses, the Russian army will “turn its weapons against the Kremlin.”
