In Venezuela, A Child Who Had Been Trapped Under The Rubble For 70 Hours Was Rescued

Colombian rescue workers assisting with relief efforts following the twin earthquakes in Venezuela successfully rescued an 11-year-old boy.

This was reported by reports the Colombian Ministry of Defense.

The special operation to rescue the child was carried out by personnel from the National Service for Natural Disaster Risk Management in collaboration with firefighters from Bogotá (Colombia).

The Colombian Ministry of Defense noted that this successful rescue restores faith and offers hope that other survivors may still be found beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings.

Large-scale search and rescue operations are currently underway in Venezuela. More than 1,600 foreign specialists have already arrived in the country and, together with local emergency services and volunteers, are working around the clock to clear the rubble of concrete structures in the affected cities.

As a reminder, on the evening of June 24 Venezuela was rocked by two extremely powerful earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, which occurred less than a minute apart.
