Sibiga: Putin Missed His Chance

The Kremlin's defeats will become increasingly humiliating.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga believes that the refusal of war initiator Putin to agree to direct talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will have bad consequences for the Kremlin dictator.

As the foreign minister emphasized on the X network, there is no good news for Russians, writes "Unian".

-"By rejecting President Zelensky's proposal for direct peace talks, Putin missed his chance to get out of this failed war for him," Sibiga noted.

- He believes that things will only get worse for Russia from here on, as the losses on the battlefield will steadily increase and the defeats will become more humiliating.

- The economy will sink even deeper into recession. More jobs will be lost, taxes will rise, and inflation will hit the least protected segments of the population," Sibiga emphasized

Long-range strikes in the Russian rear will intensify

At the same time, as the minister noted, there are already no safe places in Russia that are not subject to Ukraine's long-range sanctions. And their intensity will only grow.

At the same time, the international pressure will not weaken - it will only get tougher. In particular, this will include the use of frozen assets, entry bans and inevitable accountability for crimes.

Putin will not achieve his goal in the war against Ukraine

- All this is because the Kremlin fanatic seeks to stay in power at any cost and is ready to sacrifice the future of his own country and kill millions of people for the sake of his crazy illusions, - said the foreign minister.

Also, according to the minister, all this is because Putin does not want to recognize a simple truth: he will never achieve his goals on the battlefield.

- He had better give up his vain hopes for the fall of Ukraine, less support from its partners or less pressure on Russia," the minister said.

Sibiga believes that Russia will still have to agree to a diplomatic settlement, but the conditions will be much worse.

The minister summarized that this refusal of peace by Putin should lead to a significant increase in international pressure on Russia and more support for Ukraine.
