An Uzbek citizen convicted of organizing illegal migration from Belarus has been deported from Poland, reported on July 14 by the country’s Border Guard.
Border Guard officers in Lublin detained the foreign national after his release from a correctional facility in Zamość, where he had been serving a prison sentence.
It is alleged that the man organized the transport of illegal migrants from the Polish-Belarusian border deeper into the country, deriving “significant financial gain” from this activity. The authorities decided to deport the foreign national, as his continued presence in Poland was deemed a threat to public safety and public order,
It is reported that the Uzbek citizen was taken to Warsaw Airport, from where he left the country. He is barred from entering Poland for 10 years. A similar ban applies to all Schengen Area countries.
