On the night of July 14, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key military-economic and military targets belonging to the enemy. In particular, the oil refinery complex “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” oil refinery complex in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.
This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, confirming the destruction of the complex.
“A strike on the facility was recorded, resulting in a fire on the plant’s grounds. The extent of the damage and the results of the strike are being determined,” the statement said.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also emphasized that this facility is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in the Russian Federation.
The facility’s design capacity is approximately 10 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The complex produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, lubricants, and other products used to meet the needs of the Russian economy and military.
In addition, the Afipsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation was struck once again.
A fire was reported in the area of the facility. The extent of the damage and the results of the attack are being clarified, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
It is noted that the Afipsk Oil Refinery has a design capacity of approximately 6.25 million metric tons of crude oil per year and is one of the key oil refining facilities in the south of the aggressor country—the aggressor—supplying motor fuels and components for the Russian Federation’s needs. It is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army.
The General Staff also announced the destruction of a ship transshipment area near Gelendzhik (Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation), which is used for oil transshipment and to support the enemy’s maritime and military logistics.
The extent of the damage and the results of the strike are being assessed.
In addition, five tankers, five dry cargo ships, and a roadstead tug were struck in the waters of the Sea of Azov. These vessels are used to transport Russian oil and petroleum products in circumvention of international sanctions, the General Staff noted.
An enemy ammunition depot in occupied Donetsk and a logistics hub in occupied Luhansk were also struck.
For their part, the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commenting on the attack on “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat,” emphasized that this complex, located in the city of Salavat (Republic of Bashkortostan), was the last major gasoline producer that had not yet been targeted this year.
“The mission was carried out in coordination with the underground insurgent movement ‘Black Spark’ operating within the Russian Federation,” the statement reads.
According to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the drones, which traveled about 1,500 kilometers, “successfully reached their targets.” According to preliminary data, the critical AVT-6 primary oil distillation unit and other production facilities at the plant were struck.
