Two steel production figures set historic records for the country.
In the first seven months of the year, Spain welcomed 58.1 million foreign tourists, 4.6% more than a year earlier; they spent 82 million euros, an increase of 7.8%.
The National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported these figures, as cited by the agency EFE.

The main countries from which tourists arrived in Spain during the first seven months of the year were the United Kingdom (11.5 million people, a 4.6% increase), France (more than 7.2 million people, a 1.2% increase), and Germany (approximately 6.9 million people, a 0.5% decrease).
As of the end of July, Catalonia was the most visited Spanish region: it welcomed 11.94 million tourists, more than the Balearic Islands, which received 9.16 million tourists during those first seven months, and the Canary Islands, with 9.02 million tourists.
