John Turnus Has Been Named Apple's New CEO

John Ternus has been officially appointed CEO of Apple. He succeeds Tim Cook, who led the company for 15 years, according to the company’s website.

Ternus, 51, has been with Apple since 2001. Prior to his appointment as CEO, he served as senior vice president of hardware engineering. Turnus oversaw the development of key Apple products, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and AirPods. The new CEO graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Under John Ternus’s leadership, the company is expected to intensify its focus on developing artificial intelligence technologies. In particular, specialized teams are already being formed whose mission will be to accelerate product development and improve product quality through the implementation of AI tools.

According to Bloomberg, Turnus plans to strengthen the role of the industrial design team and restore its status as one of the key decision-making centers within the company.

Under Cook’s leadership—who succeeded Apple founder Steve Jobs in 2011—the company’s market capitalization has grown from $350 billion to $4 trillion.
