In the Donetsk region, the Ukrainian military have built an underground tunnel nearly six kilometers long, connecting two settlements. It allows for the covert movement of personnel and equipment. This was reported in an interview "Ukrinform", Colonel Dmytro Pishko, head of the Support Forces Directorate at the Headquarters of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, the tunnel ensures the uninterrupted and covert movement of personnel, motorized vehicles, and ATVs, the delivery of provisions and ammunition, as well as medical evacuation.

“Closer to the front lines, the most reliable protection is to go as deep underground as possible. Underground tunnels are a prime example,” he said.

Russian drones pose a constant threat to the movement of military personnel, the supply of ammunition and equipment, and the evacuation of the wounded. Underground routes and tunnels that provide protection from drones help reduce these risks, but their effectiveness depends on continuous improvement and maintenance.
