Youth leader Artur Finkevich told a shocking story to journalists. He was beaten by known people and taken away to Valozhyn.
As “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports, yesterday at 5.00 p.m., Finkevich left a house in Parnikovaya Street (where Artur has hired a flat).
“I was attacked, knocked down, a big winter cap was pulled over my head and dragged into a minibus. When dragging, they were beating me, and continued beating in the minibus,” Finkevich tells.
Artur says he tried to resist, cried for help, but all in vain.
“They went on beating up in the bus but as I had a cap on my head, I can’t say exactly how many people were there,” the oppositionist says.
Artur supposes he was attacked by eight people. All of them were swearing hard.
“They threw me away after three hours 25 kilometres near Valozhyn, close to Padbyarez village. I walked some kilometres to Vilnius highway. I stopped a van with Lithuanian registration plate. A driver, Remigidiush, picked me up and took to his place, he lives in a village 12 kilometres from Valozhyn. His wife called a taxi and I went to Minsk,” the activist said.
When he got to Minsk, Artur went to the Pershamaiski district militia department to file a complaint on beating. He doesn’t believe he will be able to register his injures. “They beat like professionals, they pul sweater on me not to leave bruises.”
Artur says he feared “to be killed”.
Artur notes the unknown turned out his pockets, took away documents, a purse (with 240,000 rubles) and keys.
