Lukashenka to Zyuganov: Russia’s leadership is allergic to me

Today in Minsk the Belarusian leader has met with the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) Gennady Zyuganov.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka stated that he is thankful to the chairman of the KPRF Gennady Zyuganov for his desire to understand the situation which had been shaped in the Belarusian-Russian relations, “Interfax-Zapad” reports.

“I am thankful to you as at least one person in Russia who responded to what is happening, and offered to discuss the problems, as you put it, in order to find out what is happening in reality,” Lukashenka said.

“You are certainly an informed person. I follow your work and the work of the Communist party of Russia very attentively,” Lukashenka said. “We know each other for about 15 years, and I think you cannot take a dig at me,” Lukashenka said.

As said by him, “even when it was forbidden, we never shunned speaking about socialism, communism, our past, about the Great Patriotic War, about the NATO expansion, our defense capacity. We have always maintained good relations” “I have always kept you and the party updated on all the developments as much as I could which has recently started annoying your government and caused their allergy,” Lukashenka said.

“Nevertheless, I really appreciate your addressing the issue that has worried and will always worry the party. Because it is probably one of the cornerstone issues in the policy of the Communist Party of Russia,” the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenka said that recently looked through the latest materials concerning the activities of the KPRF, their research. “Our estimates and our actions in Belarus are just like that, there are no disagreements about that,” he noted. “Still there are some points I would like to discuss with you and ask your opinion about,” Lukashenka said.
