The third and final stage of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2023 ended in Budapest. The shortened Belarusian team brought two awards from the Hungarian capital, won by Anastasia Shkurdai and Alina Zmushko.

Belarusian aquatics masters were allowed to participate in official international competitions after a long break. But in a neutral status - without using state symbols.

Also, the Belarusians could perform only in individual types of competitions, according to the terms of the International Federation. At the last stage of the 2023 KM this year, Belarus was represented by four athletes: Ilia Shymanovich, Anastasia Shkurdai, Alina Zmushko and Anastasia Kuleshova and the head coach of the national team Andrei Lipnitski.

The last day of the forum turned out to be the most successful for the Belarusian team. Based on the results of the morning qualification, two of our athletes made it to the finals. Anastasia Shkurdai won second place in the 200m backstroke: 2:11.36. Alina Zmushko also performed second in the 50m breaststroke.

According to the results of the evening finals, both Belarusians were in the top three: Shkurdai won silver, Zmushko won bronze. However, the organizers did not invite swimmers from Belarus for awarding and short interviews. This was one of the preconditions for the admission of our athletes to the World Cup in Budapest: a ban, including on any communication with media representatives, in accordance with the requirements of World Aquatics.
