The Belarusian wage floor is 177 euros.
In 2024, the minimum monthly wage (MMW) in Lithuania increased to 924 euros pretax, and the amount of non-taxable income (NTI) – to 747 euros. The income of a person receiving MMW net increases by 75.22 euros and will amount to 708.4 euros, writes Delfi.
The income of a person earning 1,000 euros gross will increase by 30.24 euros, earning 2,167 euros or more – will not change.
At the same time, for persons with a certain degree of disability and persons with disabilities, an increased amount of NTI will be applied – it is increased from 1,005 to 1,127 euros (for persons with a greater degree of disability or less ability to work), for other persons – from 935 to 1,057 euros.
The draft tax reform submitted by the government to the Seimas indicates that one of the main goals is the planned equalization of NTI and MMW by 2028, it is expected that in that year NTI and MMW may amount to almost 1,200 euros. In 2024, this decision will cost about 200 million euros, and by 2028, its budget burden will reach 573 million euros.
The self-employed need to remember that the rate of compulsory health insurance is 6.98 percent and is calculated based on MMW. As a result, from January 1, residents who pay for health insurance themselves will have to transfer 64.5 euros to Sodra every month, which is 5.87 euros more than in 2023.
In 2023, MMW in Lithuania amounted to 840 euros, NTI – 625 euros.
Recall that from January 1, 2024, the wage floor in Belarus is 626 rubles, which is equivalent to 177 euros.
