Volunteers' Raid And Massive Drone Attacks On Russian Regions: Analysis By Ukrainian Officer
OLEKSIY HETMAN

This is a very painful situation for the Kremlin.

On Tuesday, March 12, one of the most massive drone attacks on Russian regions took place: seven regions were under attack at the same time.

At the same time, Russian volunteers from three formations began to invade the territory of the Russian Federation.

Has Ukraine decided to change its war strategy? Charter97.org addressed this and other questions to reserve major of the National Guard of Ukraine, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Oleksiy Hetman:

— We said before that the number of attacks on military facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation and on the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine would increase. We produce a sufficient number of drones that can carry this out.

These attacks are the confirmation of our words that sounded 1-2 months ago. I emphasize that the attacks will intensify and continue. We attack exclusively military facilities — they are our legitimate targets.

As for the Russian volunteers, they came in with heavy weapons, even tanks and artillery. Their actions are military in nature, but more it is emotional and psychological pressure on Putin's Russia. As the volunteers said in the appeal, they came to vote. This showed that the Russian border is rather poorly fortified.

I am sure that their raid will also affect the morale of Russian servicemen on the front line in Ukraine. I think that at least one of them will start thinking.

— Yesterday, drones stopped the work of the largest Russian refinery in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and today they set fire to the Ryazan refinery. UAV strikes have become more accurate and destructive, and the geography has expanded. What weapons are now used to attack deep into enemy territory?

— We have different types of drones. According to open data, there are more than 15 types. It is unlikely that anyone will tell you what exactly is being used, especially since it is also a military secret. Nevertheless, it can be stated that we have long-range and high-precision weapons.

— Massive UAV raids and a raid of volunteers began a few days before the "election" of Putin. How painful are these events for the Kremlin?

— They are very painful. The Kremlin killed thousands of Russians conducting, by and large, useless meat assaults only for the political component to show some victories at the front.

Against this background of "victory", they wanted to hold "presidential elections" so that there would be, let's say, a fade. Now it is not even a spoonful of tar, but a whole bucket in a barrel of honey. Now in Russia, albeit in the kitchens, there will be a lot of talk about the Russian legions and, I think, the opinions of the Russians will be divided. In general, the volunteers significantly spoiled the election program for Russian political strategists.
