The photos were published on the page at Facebook page of the ministry.

On the evening of October 17, F-16 fighter jets of the Romanian Air Force shot down two drones that had violated the country’s airspace over the Black Sea.

“The targets were detected, identified, attacked, and neutralized! Members of the Romanian Armed Forces are on duty every day, ensuring our safety,” the Ministry of Defense emphasized.

The photo shows fighter jets firing missiles to shoot down the drones.
As reported, both targets were identified as jet-powered “Geran” family strike drones.

Over the past week, the Ministry of National Defense’s radar surveillance system has detected air targets eight times moving through Ukrainian airspace near the border with Romania. In four of these cases, the unmanned aerial vehicles briefly entered national airspace.

Romania convened a special meeting of the North Atlantic Council after Romanian F-16s shot down two jet-powered drones over the Black Sea.
