The Kremlin Commented On The Meeting Between Putin And Lukashenko Following The CIA Director's Visit To Moscow

The Kremlin regime’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov claims that the contacts between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Belarusian leader Lukashenko are unrelated to the CIA director’s visit to Moscow.

Peskov made this statement in a comment to Russian propagandist Pavel Zarubin.

The Kremlin spokesman noted that relations between Moscow and Minsk “are a completely separate matter” that allegedly “do not depend in any way on contacts with the Americans.”

Commenting on the visit of John Ratcliffe to the Russian capital, Peskov asserts that contacts between the intelligence services “are regular.”

Putin’s meeting with Lukashenko took place on Saturday, August 29, at the Russian dictator’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.

Earlier this week, on August 25, CIA Director John Ratcliffe secretly arrived in Moscow. On the same day, media outlets reported that the U.S. had asked Ukraine to refrain from strikes on Moscow, St. Petersburg, and northern Russia while the delegation was there, and the Wall Street Journal speculated that Ratcliffe might have come to Moscow with a warning for Putin amid intelligence reports that Russia was preparing for mobilization and possibly testing NATO’s resolve.
