Drones Struck Mi-35 And Mi-8 Helicopters At The Taganrog Air Base

Ukrainian drones carried out strike on the Russian military airfield “Taganrog-Central” in Taganrog. Information has emerged regarding the damage sustained by Russian Army helicopters stationed there as a result of the attack.

At least two Russian military helicopters—a Mi-8 and a Mi-35—were targeted by drones at the airbase in the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation. This was reported on the evening of September 7 by the publication “Military”, citing data from the OSINT channel Absolutely Reliable.

According to analysts, the drone attack on the airfield took place on September 7. The airfield itself is located only about 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

A satellite image shows the extent of the damage caused by the "strikes." OSINT analysis revealed that the drones managed to hit at least two Russian helicopters, destroying one and damaging the other.

“On the night of September 7, 2026, one Mi-8 helicopter was destroyed and one Mi-35 (an export variant of the Mi-24) was damaged,” — reported the OSINT channel Absolutely Reliable.

What is known about the attacked airbase and the damaged Russian helicopters

It is known that the “Taganrog-Central” airbase is actively used by the Russian military. The 325th Aircraft Repair Plant, which repairs transport aircraft and components for the Il-76, is also located there.

The 708th Military Transport Aviation Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces is also based at the airfield.
