An Explosion At A Train Station In Germany Brought Train Service To A Halt

There are casualties.

An explosion involving an unknown object occurred at Augsburg’s main train station. Police have completely cordoned off the station; two people sustained minor injuries.

This was reported by Die Welt.

An as-yet-unidentified object exploded at the main train station in Augsburg, Germany. Shortly thereafter, police discovered a suspicious object nearby.

So far, it is known that the station has been completely cordoned off, train service has been suspended, and public transportation has been disrupted. The police operation has been ongoing since 5:00 a.m.

According to a police spokesperson, two people sustained minor injuries. According to the Augsburger Allgemeine newspaper, the injured are an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman, both of whom were passersby. The explosion also damaged windows.

The State Criminal Police Office (LKA) is on the scene with a bomb disposal expert and a bomb-disposal robot.
