One of them is crucial.
It is not worth expecting the end of the war in the near future, because Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not ready for it. This was told in a chat on "Glavreda" by political scientist, chairman of the board of the center of applied political research "Penta" Vladimir Fesenko.
He said that in order for real peace talks to begin, the AFU needs to stabilize the front, and this will be the decisive factor.
"The second factor is Trump and his activity: no matter how we feel about him, if there were no Trump, there would be no active negotiations. Trump is the driving force behind the peace talks. It is not so important why - whether because of the Nobel Peace Prize or because he wants to go to heaven, but let him push the peace talks forward, including by exerting some influence on Putin," he emphasized.
Fesenko noted that it is important to understand that Putin wants Ukraine and wants to continue the war, but at the same time he wants to negotiate with Trump.
"This is very noticeable, including by his initiative to hold a summit. It is Putin's desire to negotiate with Trump that gives chances - not absolute and not the greatest - to end the war," the expert emphasized.
He also added that the situation inside Russia is also an important factor. If it worsens, including due to sanctions pressure on Russia, it will gradually increase the Kremlin's motivation to end the war.
"So far, I don't see any direct prerequisites for ending the war. For some more time we will have to fight both on the front and in diplomacy to bring the end of the war closer," Fesenko summarized.
